After a lot of research reading the mountain bike magazines, internet forums, friends etc etc I decided to go for the 2011 Specilized Camber Expert.
It rides like a dream! I’m very happy with my purchase and will be heading over to Dalby Forest back end of this month to put it through it’s paces there!

I’ve had my xbox 360 and xbox live account for about 3 years. In this time i’ve spent countless hours playing to earn achievements trying to better my gamer score etc, prestiged numerous times on the various call of duty games, all in an effort to gain bragging rights over my mates! Sad but true!

Sat in my inbox this week was an email from xlcm@microsoft.com entitled “Xbox LIVE – Notification of Enforcement Action”! It read as follows…

This email is to notify you that your Xbox LIVE account privileges have been permanently suspended due to modification of your gamertag or other profile data.

These modifications may include, but are not limited to:

Altering the appearance of your gamertag or avatar

Illegitimate gain of achievements or avatar awards

Application of watermarks or other special identifiers that were not legitimately granted

Unauthorized manipulation of in-game parameters

Your conduct was brought to the attention of the LIVE Enforcement Team through complaints filed by other Xbox LIVE users or in the course of our operation of the service. The LIVE Enforcement Team has reviewed the complaints and other evidence regarding your conduct and determined it violates the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use and/or Code of Conduct. Because your conduct is in violation, the LIVE Enforcement Team has issued a permanent suspension.

During your suspension, you will not be able to log into Xbox LIVE. Your Xbox LIVE privileges will not be reinstated.

Customer Support is not able to modify or provide any further details about your suspension.

Microsoft expects that all customers abide by the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct provides guidelines for appropriate behavior while using the service.

You can view the Xbox LIVE Code of Conduct from the Xbox LIVE Dashboard under Xbox LIVE Policies in Account Management, or by visiting http://www.xbox.com/legal/codeofconduct.htm.You can view the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use by visiting http://www.xbox.com/legal/livetou.htm.

Note: if you are not a user of Xbox LIVE, this suspension may have been enacted due to your activity in the Zune Social. You can view the Zune Social Code of Conduct by visiting http://www.zune.net/legal/codeofconduct.htm. You can view the Zune Social Terms of Service by visiting http://www.zune.net/legal/termsofservice.htm.

Thank you,

LIVE Enforcement Team

WTF!!! As you can imagine I wasn’t very pleased! I cranked up the xbox and tried to sign in. No luck, it told me my account had been permanently suspended and I cant login until 31/12/9999 which basically means NEVER AGAIN!

Why did I get banned…? “Altering the appearance of your gamertag or avatar“. I remembered that last year I’d found something on the internet about changing the colour of your avatar skin (rather than using the usual pre-sets). All you did was plug your xbox hard drive into your PC, change a couple of values and hey presto, red skin to make me look like the devil!

Although I had changed my skin colour back to a normal one using the xbox interface they found out somehow. They class this as hacking and decided to permanently ban a rather loyal xbox live customer with over 3 years of gameplay!!! Thing that really pissed me off was the fact that i’d just renewed my subscription to Xbov LIVE too! Another £39.99 down the shitter!

I think this is extremely harsh for such a small thing! Why not a warning and a temporary suspension like they do for other things! Cheating, racism, offensive behaviour & bad language can get you a temporary suspension for a few days but a total ban for a colour change!!! HARSH!

Over the past month or so I’ve had problems with my iPhone 4 crackling and the mic stop working when making or receiving calls. It started off doing it maybe once or twice a week but eventually got to a stage where it was nearly every call. I’d take or receive a call and anywhere between 0 – 60 seconds it would start crackling in the ear piece, get progressively louder then the person on the other end of the line couldn’t hear me at all and hang up!
After trawling the internet for answers I came across the usual suggestions…

Perform a hard reset (hold down sleep & home button until it powers off).

Make sure you close any open apps.

Make sure you are using the most up to date iOS (4.3.5 at the time).

Check whether it only happens on 2g, edge or 3g (did it on all of them for me!).

Make sure you haven’t dropped your phone down the toilet. (joke)

So after trying all of the above suggestions I still had the iPhone 4 crackling speaker / no mic problem and decided to call Vodafone tceh support. After speaking with Vodafone technical support, explaining the problem and saving myself time by telling them everything i’d tried to troubleshoot the problem the best solution they could offer was for them to send me a bag out in the post for me to post the phone back to them for repair which normally takes 5 -7 days. I tried to explain to them that this is not good enough, i use my phone everyday, i need my phone, i don’t have a spare phone plus if I did the sim card wouldn’t fit it because it’s one of those micro sims! Again I asked if they could send a replacement iPhone as mine is still under warranty, i’ll send mine back, but still they said NO CAN DO. I thanked the tech support guy for his help, hung up and thought BALLS to Vodafone.

As my iPhone 4 was still under warranty I thought I’d give the local Apple store a try even though I got the phone through Vodafone. I’d heard many good things about customer service at the Apple store so booked an appointment with an Apple ”Genius” and called in the following day with my faulty iPhone.

I arrived at the Apple store, it was busy as hell but I soon got directed to the right “Genius” who was going to be dealing with my problem. I quickly explained the problems i’d been having and the things i’d tried to solve it but with no luck. She asked to look at my phone, went into settings to find the serial number, tapped that into her own iPhone and said “Oh, looks like you’ve only got 4 days left on your warranty, i’ll just give you a new one”! Off she went for few minutes then came back with a brand new iPhone 4 and handed it over! That was it! They didn’t ask to test it out, try re-create the problem or anything. NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL SERVICE!

So the moral of the story is… If you have any problems with your iPhone 4 crackling, mic not working or any other problem at all, book an appointment at an apple store and chances are you’ll get a brand new replacement! Thank you Apple… kiss my arse Vodafone!!!

They manufacture all kinds of things plastic related as they are “Plastic Injection Moulding Specialists” and this time they wanted a website to promote and sell their “snow product” range.

The site is pretty straight forward, html, css, javascript and a bit of good old jquery. It’s linked up to PayPal to process the online purchasing side of things with it’s prices, descriptions and delivery information pulled from an xml file.

So… here’s the stuff they sell…
